6/26/11 Moccasin Creek State Park, Clarkesville, GA Site 50

This is a very nice state park located in the Georgia Mountains. Our site was a long back in site with water and electric at the site. The bath houses are very clean. There is a small camp store which also sells Georgia fishing licenses. The campground is on Lake Burton and Moccasin Creek. It is a popular fishing destination. There is a boat ramp and fish hatchery. There are restaurants and grocery stores in nearby Clayton, Georgia. It is also a short drive to the towns of Clarkesville and Helen, and to Unicoi State Park.

Click Moccasin Creek State Park for the state park website

Amenities: Lake, fishing, boat ramp

AT&T cell service worked at the site. There is no WIFI.

Would we stay here again? YES

Hi,

Just found your blog and enjoyed reading about your thoughts on campgrounds! Have you been to St. George Island in FL? That's one of my favorite spots.
