6/26/11 Moccasin Creek State Park, Clarkesville, GA Site 50

This is a very nice state park located in the Georgia Mountains. Our site was a long back in site with water and electric at the site. The bath houses are very clean. There is a small camp store which also sells Georgia fishing licenses. The campground is on Lake Burton and Moccasin Creek. It is a popular fishing destination. There is a boat ramp and fish hatchery. There are restaurants and grocery stores in nearby Clayton, Georgia. It is also a short drive to the towns of Clarkesville and Helen, and to Unicoi State Park.

6/24/11 Best Holiday Travel Park, Chattanooga, TN Site 114

Our site was a long, gravel pull through with full hookup and cable. We had free WIFI at the site, a picnic table and fire ring. The park is located conveniently off of I-75 and is close to all of the Chattanooga attractions. There is a nice laundry room and pool. We did not use bath house.

6/20/11 Double J RV Park, Chatham, IL Site P101

This is a very nice park located just off of I-55 south of Springfield, IL. We had a long and wide pull through with full hookups and free WIFI at the site. There is a pool and putt putt golf. The laundry room is very small, only 2 washers and 2 dryers but clean. We did not use the bath houses so we can’t comment on them. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this park.

6/18/11 Newton KOA, Newton, IA Site 26

This is an older campground that just recently became a KOA. We had a long, narrow gravel pull through site with full hookups including free WIFI. The campground has a pool, playground, and laundry. We did not use the bath houses so can’t comment on them. The sites are very tight and the roads in the campground very narrow. The campground is located so close to I-80 that the traffic noise is very loud. It is so close to I-80 that we sat outside the camper and watched the traffic go by on the interstate. We practically had to shout to talk to each other.. There is a Walmart a couple of miles away and restaurants about 5 miles from the campground.

Would we stay here again? No, because of the noise

6/9/11 Buffalo River State Park, Glyndon, MN Site 2

This is a very nice state park. We arrived without reservations and picked our site which backed up onto the prairie. We had electric only at the site. Be sure to fill your fresh water tank before setting up. The site was a long, paved back in with grass all around and plenty of room between sites. We had a fire ring and a picnic table. The campground is shaded with a good number of trees. There is a swimming area within walking distance and a nice nature trail through the prairie.

6/7/11 Mina Lake SRA, Aberdeen, SD, Site 29

This is a small state park located near Aberdeen, SD. Our site was paved with electric at the site. Be sure to fill your fresh water tank at the dump station as you enter the park. There was hardly anyone in the park so we chose our site near the lake. The sites are surrounded by grass and there are plenty of trees for shade. The camp hosts were very nice and helpful. The closest grocery store is Kessler’s in Aberdeen. The park was very quiet and peaceful when we were there.

6/6/11 Oasis RV Park, Oacoma, SD Site 18

We stayed here for a quick overnight stop on our way across I-90 in South Dakota. The park is conveniently located just off of I-90 and is close to the Missouri River. We had a gravel pull through with full hookups including WIFI. The sites were very close together but not bad for a one night stop. There is a restaurant and grocery store across the street.

6/3/11 Whistler Gulch RV Park, Deadwood, SD Site 304

This is an older park located at the top of a hill about a mile from Deadwood, SD. The location is great. We chose it mainly so we could take the trolley into Deadwood. Our site was a gravel pull through with full hookups, fire pit, picnic table and WIFI. It was not long enough to park our truck so we parked it beside the road which was not a problem. There is a nice laundry and pool at the campground. The staff were very helpful. There is a Walmart and other shopping in Spearfish and a small grocery store in nearby Lead. There are casinos, restaurants, shops and entertainment on Main Street in Deadwood. Every day in summer there is a shootout on the street and reenactment of the shooting of Wild Bill Hicock.

5/31/11 Custer State Park, Custer, SD Game Lodge Campground Site 12

We loved it here! There are several campgrounds in Custer State Park and our site was in Game Lodge Campground. All of the sites were large, paved sites surrounded by grass. Each site had a picnic table and fire ring with electric only at the site. Be sure to fill your fresh water tank at one of the water spigots before setting up. Game Lodge has a dump station, some of the other campgrounds don’t. The bath houses were very clean. There is also a small laundry. The campsites are surrounded by grass and there are some recently planted trees in the field. There is a small creek which runs alongside the campground.
Custer State Park is located in the Black Hills of South Dakota and is a popular vacation destination. The state park has a large herd of bison which can be seen from the Wildlife Loop Drive. The Needles Highway and Iron Mountain Road are other beautiful scenic drives in the park. Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Monument are close by.

Our AT&T worked at the site and in most of the park. There is WIFI at the lodge which we did not use.

5/30/11 Glendo Lakeside RV Park, Glendo, WY Site A4

The RV Park is conveniently located just off of I-25 and just outside of Glendo State Park which is a popular fishing destination. Our site was a gravel pull through wide enough to park a vehicle or boat beside the RV. Many of the other campers had their boats parked beside their RV. We had full hookups including WIFI.  There is a little camp store. We did not use the bath house so can’t comment on that. The owners were very helpful.

5/27/11 Elk Meadow RV, Park Estes Park, CO

This park is located just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park. It is a large campground with many RV and tent sites. We had a gravel pull through with fire ring, picnic table, WIFI and full hookups. We had plenty of room for our slides. The sites are close together but the location and views of the mountains makes up for that. The best part about the park is its location. Less than 5 minutes in one direction you are in the national park and 5 minutes in the other direction in the town of Estes Park. We were here on Memorial Day Weekend and although the campground was almost full it didn’t feel overly crowded.
