5/14/11 Copper Breaks State Park, Quanah, TX Site 4

This park is located about 15 miles south of Hwy 287 west of Wichita Falls. We were arriving on a Saturday so we called ahead to see if we needed reservations and they told us to just come on. We checked in at the office and the rangers were very helpful and assigned us a site we would fit in. Our site is a 40 foot level back in site with water and electric. The pad is gravel with the rest of the site grass. The picnic table and grill are on a paved pad under a roof. There is also a fire pit which we couldn’t use because of a fire ban. Behind our site are Mesquite, Juniper and other trees. The park has an interesting history and badland type bluffs along the river. Definitely a hidden gem in Texas. The highlight of our stay was seeing their herd of Texas Longhorns.

Weak AT&T service, no WIFI or 3G

Would we stay here again,
