This is by far the nicest Corps of Engineers Park we have been to. The campground is located at Ortona Lock and Dam on the canal connecting the east and west coast of Florida. Ft. Myers is about an hour drive west and Clewiston is about a 30 minute drive east. All sites have large, paved pads and large gravel picnic area with covered picnic table, fire pit and grill. All sites have water and electric. There is a dump station conveniently located on the way out of the park. The bath houses are spotless and there is one washer and one dryer in the laundry room. Many sites are water front. You can walk across the dam to watch boats go through the lock. The nearest town is La Belle where you will find 3 grocery stores, a laundromat, and several fast food restaurants.This is one of our favorite campgrounds. Click favorite to read more about it.
